How True Is Truth

Byline: Clay Thames

How True Is Truth

You take a feeble swipe at the dark and think,

what's the point?

The moral I mean.

A thing,

may happen

and be a total lie,

another thing,

may not happen

and be truer than the truth.

We had witnessed something

something brand new and profound,

a piece of the world so startling there was not yet

a name for it.

Often the crazy stuff is true and

the normal stuff isn't,

because the normal stuff is necessary

to make you believe the

truly incredible craziness.

They just look at him for a while,

sort of funny like, sort of amazed,

and the whole war

is right there in that stare.

It says everything

you can't ever say.

Like fighting

two different wars.

Nobody listens.
